Pre-Installations Requirements

All Glamo Lush hair has the cuticle intact. Therefore, before installing we recommend that you always:

• Rinse the hair under warm water. It is important that you keep the plastic security band around the bundle during this process to avoid tangling.

• Run your fingers through the hair

• Set the hair out to air dr. Once dry, the hair should be tangle and shed free. If you detect any problems during this pre-installation process, please contact us immediately

• We stand behind the quality of our hair. In the rare case that you experience any excess matting, shedding or tangling within the first week due to a manufacturing issue, please contact us for further consultation.

 

Installation Tips

• When doing a full sew-in, professional stylist suggest folding the wefts rather than cutting individual tracks. This maintains the integrity of the extension, prevents excessive shedding and makes the re-installation easier.

• When installing wefted extensions with a needle, it is recommended that you sew around the weft rather than through. Putting a needle through the weft will weaken the structure and cause shedding

• All Glamo Lush hair is cut from a single donor, cuticles intact, with all hairs facing he same direction from the root tip. Therefore, always pull hair from the top where it is secured with a rubberband. Never take hair from the bottom of the bundle. Taking strands from the bottom will cause the hair to be inverted and result in matting and tangling.

 

General Maintenance

• We suggest that you have your stylist trim the ends, especially if you plan on doing a lot of heat styling. Hot tools can contribute to split ends, shortening the life of your extensions.

• It is suggested that you visit your stylist regularly to have your hair and extensions shampooed, especially when wearing a sew in installation. It is critical that the hair is properly cleansed and dried.

• Hair extensions should not be handled rigorously and should always be shampooed in a downward motion.

• Please be careful when using extreme heat on the hair to avoid damage to the cuticle.

• Keep styling products to a minimum to prevent weighing down the hair. Glamo Lush Silken Serum, Argan oil will help maintain the smooth and lustrous texture of the hair. It also works as a heat protectant. Use a dime size before blow drying, flat ironing or curling.

Here are helpful suggestions for each hair type:

 

Straight

• Easy to flat iron or curl

• Use a dime size of Glamo Lush Silken Serum or Argan oil every 2-3 days to help maintain the luster.

 

Wavy

• Straightens easily with a flat iron

• Texture allows for long lasting curls

• Returns to its original wave pattern after every shampoo and condition

• To define the waves, use a paddle brush to detangle wet hair like the Denman brush. Next, distribute the product evenly, scrunch and allow hair to air dry or use diffuser for more volume.

• Handling the hair during the drying process can cause frizziness. If a fuller look is desired, wait until hair is completely dry to manipulate.

• Use a dime size of Glamo Lush Silken Serum or Argan oil every 2-3 days to help maintain the luster

 

Curly

• Can be straightened with the use of blow dryer and flat iron.

• Texture allows for long lasting curls

• Due to the innovative steam curling process, we do not recommend straightening any texture as it will loosen the curl pattern over time

• A curling wand/iron may be used at a low temperature to blend with natural hair or define curls.

• To define the waves, use a paddle brush to detangle wet hair like the Denman brush. Next, distribute the product evenly, scrunch and allow hair to air dry or use diffuser for more volume.

• Handling the hair during the drying process can cause frizziness. If a fuller look is desired, wait until hair is completely dry to manipulate.

• Use a dime size of Glamo Lush Silken Serum or Argan oil every 2-3 days to help maintain the luster

• Curl defining products are more effective when applied to wet hair.

 

Closures and Frontals

• Closures and Frontals have a lace base, which allows for a realistic look. Please refrain from excessive tugging, scratching, or pulling on the hair as strands of hair may be released from the base.

• Applying shampoo or conditioner near the base of your unit may cause the delicate workmanship to unravel.

• If you are experiencing balding, or thin areas in your frontal or closure, it is best to replace the piece or seek a professional who specializes in re-ventilation.

 

Chemically Altering Glamo Lush Hair

• Glamo Lush hair is 100% virgin hair; therefore it can be dyed, bleached, relaxed or permed. We strongly recommend that all chemical alterations be done professionally.

• Prior to any chemical alterations, a strand test should be performed. Be aware that performing these services can change the texture and/or pattern of the hair.

 

Specific Conditions

Swimming:

• It is not recommended that you swim with extension hair, as chlorine and salt water is damaging to the hair. However, if you do the following precautions are recommended:

• Brush through hair

•  Apply leave in conditioner to hair to act as a protective layer

• Braiding the hair in sections may help to prevent tangling

• Afterwards thoroughly shampoo and condition hair

 

Extreme Weather Conditions

Cold and Dry

Cold and extremely dry weather conditions can cause hair to appear brittle.

Moisturize the hair more frequently. We recommend daily use of our silken serum and argan oil.

Please note: exposure to the sun may cause a slight change in color in both natural and chemically colored hair.

Heat and Humidity

Hair tends to swell when exposed to extreme heat and humidity especially heavily textured hair such as those with a curl or wave pattern.

Only use a small amount of product to control and define the texture.

It may be necessary to deep condition more frequently.

 

Other Considerations:

Night Routine

In order to preserve style, hair should be wrapped, braided, twisted, rolled, or pin curled according to the texture to prevent tangling.

Never sleep on loose, wet hair.

Cotton pillow cases can dry out the hair, so we recommend sleeping wearing a satin scarf or bonnet.
